If you're looking to go to the next level in your overlanding adventures, the Tuff Stuff Stealth Aluminum Hard-Shell Roof Top Tent is built for that. This aluminum hard top tent, which opens sideways, comfortably accommodates couples and small families.
The Stealth Aluminum Side Open Roof Top Tent fits three people and is a 4-season camping tent for those who do it all, in all kinds of terrain and weather.
The shell is made of aluminum, making it extremely strong and durable. It also includes high quality materials such as YKK zippers, ripstop poly-cotton canvas, and a heavy duty honeycomb aluminum floor. Combined with a design that opens and closes in less than a minute, it's built for any camping adventure.
Note: The Stealth tent is designed to open to the passenger side only. Annex sold separately.
Installation
Your vehicle must have crossbars (left to right) rated to accept 238+ lbs, and your crossbars should be at least 40" apart for proper support.
Pickup trucks: we strongly recommend using a truck bed rack. We do not recommend placing the Stealth tents directly on the roof of a truck cab.
Mounting requires a minimum of 2 people for lifting. The Stealth can be mounted and opened from either the driver or passenger side, though it's designed to open to the passenger side — there's a slight taper on one end for aerodynamics.
Slide the supplied mounting hardware into the channel so there are 2 bolts per corner (one in front and one behind the crossbars), run the bolts through the mounting bracket holes, and thread nuts onto each bolt.
Confirm the tent's position, vehicle balance, and appearance, then tighten all nuts until the brackets can't move.
Undo the side buckles, push up on the handle to actuate the hydraulic rams and open the hard shell, then pull out the telescoping ladder until fully extended and pull down until the folding side of the tent has opened fully.
Reposition the ladder to your desired height and angle, install the supplied tension rods on the overhang and windows, and you're set up.
