The Tuff Stuff Elite Overland Roof Top Tent is a family-size, four-season soft shell roof top tent that sleeps 4 to 5 people. A removable split wall and two separate entry doors give everyone their own space, and a removable lower annex room is included for even more living and changing room at camp.

Room for the Whole Crew

Inside, a massive 78" x 96" mattress (bigger than a California King) with a washable cover gives the whole family room to stretch out. The removable internal divider splits the tent into two separate spaces, and each side has its own sliding ladder and entry door.

Built for Four Seasons

The tent body is made from 280G polyurethane-impregnated poly-cotton rip-stop canvas with taped seams, topped by a 420D Oxford rain fly with excellent water-shedding ability. The welded 2" aluminum base is insulated between the joists to keep warm air inside, and a heavy-duty black 1000D PVC driving cover protects everything on the road.

Included Annex Room

The 113" x 90" annex room zips onto the tent after installation and features 420D Oxford side walls, a 1000D PVC floor and taped seams. Use it as a changing room, an extra sleeping area for the kids, or a sheltered gear space.

Installation

• Install time is about 1-2 hours with 2 people. Detailed instructions are included.
• The annex room zips on after the tent has been installed.
• The custom extruded aluminum channel system mounts to most roof racks. Tent mounts slide in the lower rail to fit crossbars with a spread of up to 52"; for optimal support, crossbars should be no more than 45" apart.
• The included brackets accept crossbars up to 3.25" wide. Wider crossbars require different brackets.
• Ideal mounting height is 76"-78" above the ground so the ladders extend fully and the annex reaches the ground.
• A roof rack or base for the tent to bolt to is required and not included. Please don't fabricate mounting rails before you receive your tent.

FAQ

Will this tent fit my vehicle?
Roof top tents are not vehicle-specific. Your vehicle needs a stable roof rack that can support the weight of the tent plus the people inside. Heavy-duty crossbars are required, and you should confirm your factory rail system can hold the load. Always refer to your vehicle manual.

How many people can it sleep?
Comfortably 4-5 adults. Small children can sleep between adults or in the included annex room.

Is it easy to open and close?
It is easier than most soft shell tents on the market, though slower than a hard shell. After a little practice, setup takes about 10-15 minutes, mostly spent placing the window rods for the overhangs.

Can it open from either side of the vehicle?
Yes, it can fold open from the left or right side of the vehicle or trailer.

Does it hold up in wind and rain?
Yes. The tent is waterproof and comes with a rain fly for long rainy days. When secured correctly it holds up to high winds.

Why is there moisture inside on cold nights?
In cold weather, the temperature difference between inside and outside causes condensation on the walls and floor. An anti-condensation mat and keeping the vents open help a lot.

Can I wash the mattress cover?
Yes, the cover is removable and washable.

Is all installation hardware included?
Yes, all hardware and wrenches are included. You need a roof rack ready for installation, so always check the weight capacity of your rack and vehicle.

Do I need to air out the tent after camping?
Yes. Air it out and let it dry after every trip to prevent mold and mildew.

Can I take it through a car wash?
No. Automatic car washes can damage the tent or tear it from the vehicle.

Shipping

This tent ships by LTL truck freight. The carrier will contact you to schedule delivery, and residential deliveries are made curbside. Please inspect the package for damage before signing.
