The Tuff Stuff Alpha II is a four-season, two-person hard shell roof top tent and a compact version of the best-selling Alpha. Its side-opening design gives you a hard ABS shell on the road and a roomy fold-out sleeping area at camp, set up in under two minutes. At 141 lbs and just under 60" long, it's a great fit for smaller SUVs and crossovers.

Fast, Hybrid Side-Opening Setup

Undo the side buckles, push up on the handle and the hydraulic rams lift the shell. Extend the ladder and pull it down to unfold the side: your bed is ready. The tent opens to the passenger side.

Four-Season Comfort

The 280G poly/cotton rip-stop tent body is windproof, and the included 210D Oxford rain fly is rated to 5000 mm. Three mesh windows (two with zip-off rain awnings) and a skylight keep air moving, while amber and white LED light strips light up the inside and outside of the tent.

Installation

• Crossbars must run left to right, carry at least 190 lbs and be at least 30" apart.
• Lifting the tent onto your rack takes at least 2 people.
• Use 2 bolts per corner (one in front of and one behind each crossbar) through the mounting plates, center the tent and tighten until it cannot move.
• On a pickup, a truck bed rack is strongly recommended rather than the cab roof.

FAQ

Will this tent fit my vehicle?
Roof top tents are not vehicle-specific. Your vehicle needs a stable roof rack rated to carry the tent plus the people inside. Always check your vehicle manual and your rack's load rating.

How do I keep the shell looking new?
Keep it clean and wax it regularly. The ABS shell naturally expands and contracts slightly with temperature, which is normal.

Can I take it through a car wash?
No. An automatic car wash could damage the tent or rip it off the vehicle.

Why isn't there a memory foam mattress?
Memory foam stiffens in the cold and holds moisture, which makes condensation and mold worse in a roof top tent.

Shipping

This tent ships by LTL truck freight on a pallet. The carrier will contact you to schedule delivery, and residential deliveries are made curbside. Please inspect the package for damage before signing.
