The Tuff Stuff Alpha is a hybrid side-opening roof top tent that combines a hard ABS shell with a fold-out canvas floor. Hydraulic rams lift the shell, the ladder pulls the side down, and camp is ready in under two minutes, with a sleeping area bigger than a King bed.

The sloped, aerodynamic ABS shell (with FRP reinforcement and a clear coat) keeps wind resistance low on the road. At camp, the tent unfolds to the passenger side over a 71" x 87" mattress, and its high profile lets you leave your bedding inside when it's closed.

Three mesh windows, two zip-off rain awnings and a skylight keep air moving and let you stargaze. Amber and white LED light strips inside and outside light up your campsite, and steel cable locks keep the tent secure on your rig.

Installation

• Lifting the tent onto your rack takes at least 2 people.
• Center the tent on your roof rack, bed rack or trailer, then use 2 bolts per corner (one in front of and one behind each crossbar) through the mounting plates and tighten until the tent cannot move.
• A roof rack, bed rack or crossbars rated for the tent is required and not included.

FAQ

Will this tent fit my vehicle?
Roof top tents are not vehicle-specific. Your vehicle needs a stable roof rack or bed rack rated to carry the weight of the tent plus the people inside. Always check your vehicle manual and your rack's load rating.

Which side does it open to?
The Alpha opens to the passenger side only.

How do I keep the shell looking new?
Keep it clean and wax it regularly. The ABS shell naturally expands and contracts slightly with temperature, which is normal.

Can I take it through a car wash?
No. An automatic car wash could damage the tent or rip it off the vehicle.

Why isn't there a memory foam mattress?
Memory foam stiffens in the cold and holds moisture, which makes condensation and mold worse in a roof top tent. The Alpha uses a high-density foam mattress instead.

Shipping

This tent ships by LTL truck freight on a pallet. The carrier will contact you to schedule delivery, and residential deliveries are made curbside. Please inspect the package for damage before signing.
